Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 9:00 AM by Chair Ashford.

Certification of Open Meeting Notice

Requirements of the Open Meeting Law were met.

Approval of Agenda Amended

Motion made by Stehling, second by Wiese to approve the agenda. Motion carried.

Approval of Minutes of Last Meeting

Motion made by Wiese, second by Stehling to approve the minutes of the regularmeeting of March 25, 2010. Motion carried.

Public Comment

Mr. Loomis updated committee on Somerset Theater Group; expanding in 2011.

Communications

• Communicated invitation to a dedication ceremony of the Aldo Leopold Shack and Farm as a National Historic Landmark.
• Communication from WI Historical Society : State Bank of Spring Green nominated
• Al Anderson announced that he was appointed to WI Humanities Counsil.
• Jessica Jens, UWEX Youth Development Agent resigned as of June 30, 2010; committee will discuss in more detail at May meeting with Dick Pederson present.

SAUK COUNTY UW EXTENSION

Monthly Report/Review and Approval of Vouchers (UW Extension)

A motion was made by Wiese, second by Stehling to approve the vouchers for the month of March in the amount of $28,951.71 Motion carried.

Agent Monthly Reports

Denise Brusveen, Agricultural Agent – Brusveen described Heart of the Farm, which is a program available for women in agriculture focusing on farm management and production education.

Out of State Travel

Nagelkerk was invited to present at the NEAFCS Conference in Portland, Maine in September 2010 with minimal cost to Sauk County. A motion was made by Wiese, second by Stehling to approve the cost of out of state travel expenses. Motion carried.

Location of UW Extension Committee Meeting in May

The committee plans to meet at the Al Ringling Theatre for our May 27^th meeting.

WACEC State Conference & WACEC Southern District Conference

Supervisors are invited to attend the upcoming conferences. Distributed materials.

ARTS & CULTURE

Monthly Report/Review and Approval of Vouchers

A motion was made by Stehling, second by Wiese to approve the vouchers for the month of March in the amount of $2,415.72. Motion carried.

Reports

Stehling reported that boxes will be used in the future to transport display panels.

Update on Grant Process

Committee was updated on the grant process.

Consideration of Applications for Good Idea Grants

Prairie du Sac Library requested monies for a book discussion and to purchase 14 copies of The Poisoner’s Handbook: Murder and the Birth of Forensic Medicine in Jazz Age New York. A motion was made by Stehling, second by Wiese to approve the Good Idea Grant in the amount of $488.00 to the Prairie du Sac Library. Motion carried.
