Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 1:02PM by Chair Hambrecht.

Certification of Open Meeting Notice

Requirements of the Open Meeting Law were met. 

Adopt Agenda

Motion made by Hazard, second by Newport to adopt the agenda.  Motion carried.  All in favor.

Adopt Minutes of Previous Meeting

Motion made by Hazard, second by Berlin to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 5, 2018.  Motion carried.  All in favor.

Public Comment:  None

Communications:  Anderson reported that WI Humanities Counsil is checking if any available federal financial assistance for libraries due to the recent flooding.  Correspondence shared.

 

UW EXTENSION

Review Budget and Approval of Vouchers:

UW Extension:  Budget reviewed; educator contract line was adjusted/corrected based on the vacant educator positions in Sauk County. 

Motion made by Berlin, second by Hazard to approve the September 2018 UW-Extension invoices in the amount of $1,162.60.  Motion carried. All in favor.

Departmental Updates:

            a. Monthly Committee Staff Report; Current issue of Wisconsin Counties Magazine published article focusing on                              recruitment of local elected officials co-written by J. Erickson.

b. Hambrecht and Hoffman reported on Ag educator recruitment process

Discussion and action on the UW Extension 2019 budget

Finance reviewed budget; no changes proposed.  Committee consensus to forward budget “as is” to full county board review.  Motion carried. All in favor.

Educator reports: 

Phyllis Both described Horticulture Educator responsibilities.

ARTS & CULTURE

Communications:  Shared.

Wisconsin Arts Board re-granting meeting in October.  Committee ideas for 2019 grant application tabled until future meeting.

Review Budget and Approval of Vouchers:

Arts & Culture:  Budget reviewed.  No invoices for September.

Discussion and possible action on the Arts & Culture 2019 budget

Finance reviewed budget; no changes proposed.  Committee consensus to forward budget “as is” to full county board review.  Motion carried. All in favor.
