Minutes of the Regular Meeting

March 14, 2018

Members Present: Judy Ashford, John Dietz, Donna Stehling, Chuck Spencer, Alan Anderson

Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 9AM @ Chair Ashford.

 

Certification of Open Meeting Notice

Requirements of the Open Meeting Law were met. 

 

Approval of Agenda

Motion made by Stehling, second by Spencer to approve the agenda.  Motion carried.  All in favor.

 

Approval of Minutes of Last Meeting

Motion made by Stehling, second by Dietz to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of February 14, 2018 and special meeting minutes from March 1, 2018 of Arts & Culture grant evaluation panels.  Motion carried.  All in favor.

 

Approval of Rescheduling the April 11, 2018 meeting date.

Motion made by Dietz, second by Spencer to approve the date of the next committee date as April 10, 2018.  Motion carried.  All in favor.

Public Comment:  None

Communications:  None

Review Budget and Approval of Vouchers:

UW Extension  Budget reviewed.  Motion made by Dietz, second by Spencer to approve the February 2018 UW Extension invoices in the amount of $71,245.32.  Motion carried. All in favor.

 

Arts & Culture  Budget reviewed.  Motion made by Stehling, second by Spencer to approve the February 2018 Arts & Culture invoices in the amount of $614.04.  Motion carried.  All in favor.

Departmental Updates

Area Extension Director Update

-The UW Extension annual report for 2018 is being edited to improve its clarity and accuracy.

-Starting in April of 2018 the UW Extension Committee agenda will include monthly statements of work completed to align with Sauk County standards.

UW- Extension Agent Report:

Meg Sage, 4-H Youth Development Agent:  Update on winter programming.

ARTS & CULTURE

Departmental Updates

Wisconsin Arts Board final report has been submitted qualifying Sauk County for re-granting funds.  Weisert requested fund of $10,000 for 2018-19.

Discussion, possible action on approved for Arts & Culture carry-forward request from 2017-18

Motion made by Spencer, second by Dietz to approve the carryforward of $2080.24 to proper accounts.  Motion carried. All in favor

Discussion, Possible action on approval of 2017 UW Extension Annual Report

Motion made by Ashford, second by Stehling to approve the 2017 UW Extension Annual Report.  Motion carried.  All in favor.

Discussion and possible action on spring 2018 AHHP Grant Applications as recommended by the Arts and History/Humanities Panels

Weisert explained budget and recommendations from the Arts and History/Humanities panels.  Ashford recommended funding the 13 top scoring grants and to not fund the 8 lowest scoring grants.

Motion made by Spencer, second by Stehling to approve panel recommendations for a total of $55,725 per review of grant and funding guidelines for the future.    Motion carried.  All in favor.

Consideration of 2018 Good Idea Grant application(s): 

Reedsburg Area Community Choir:  Budget clarified. Motion made by Stehling, second by Spencer to approve the $500 good idea grant for the Reedsburg Area Community Choir.  Motion carried.  All in favor.

Next meeting date: 

The next Regular meeting will be Tuesday, April 10, 2018, held in the County Board Room of the West Square Building @ 9:00 AM

Future Agenda Item(s):  Discussion for additional funding sources for AHHP grants.
