Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 9:00AM by Chair Ashford.
Certification of Open Meeting Notice
Requirements of the Open Meeting Law were met.
Approval of Agenda
Motion made by Dietz, second by Czuprynko to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Approval of Minutes of Last Meeting
Motion made by Czuprynko, second by Stehling to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of January 8, 2014. Motion carried.

Communications:
- Judy Ashford shared the communication that Devil’s Lake State Park, in the town of Baraboo, Sauk Co. will be considered by the Wisconsin State Register of Historic Places and National Register of Historic Places.
Explanation of Sauk Co. Art Assoc. offer to award a $250 grant to Sauk County for purchase of a work of art from one of the Association members. Presentation of the work and possible appearance of the artist, Rhea Ewing, to explain the work and its relationship to Sauk County.
Ewing was present to explain her inspiration about the work of art and its relationship to Sauk County. Committee recommends a letter drafted from Krueger be sent to the Sauk Co. Art Assoc. for the gift. Ashford will follow up with Krueger.
Consider and discuss recommendation of placement of the art work in the County Building.
Ashford suggested hanging the art work on the 3rd floor outside the County Board Room.
Ewing will submit a narrative about the piece to place beside the art work on display.
Review Budget and Approval of Vouchers:
UW Extension: Erickson stated that budget is on track due to being early in the year. Budget report will be requested from Accounting Dept. for upcoming meeting. Motion was made by Stehling, second by Czuprynko to approve the vouchers for the month of January 2014 in the amount of $80,267.08. Motion carried.
Arts & Culture: Motion was made by Stehling, second by Czuprynko to approve the vouchers for the month of January 2014 in the amount of $10,000. Motion approved.
UW Extension, Arts & Culture Updates/Reports:
2013 AHHP Final Reports: Ashford stated the importance of 2013 AHHP final reports being submitted to be eligible for the 2014 AHHP grants. Erickson will work on how to handle this process due to staff shortage.
2014 AHHP Grants Process Update: Grants are due by 4:30PM on February 24th. Panels are in the process of being determined. Panels will meet on Monday, March 10th, 2014 to review the grants received. Ashford donated funds to cover the lunch expense. Ashford will review the grants as they come into the UW Extension office to ensure they are complete or to follow-up as needed. It is ultimately up to the applicants to be responsible to have a complete application.
Wisconsin Re-granting Program: Erickson received the notification letter and will look into the process. Schauf is familiar with this process and is willing to assist.
UW Extension Administrative Support Staff FMLA: Erickson stated that one of UWEX’s Administrative Support staff is on medical leave for an extended amount of time, which leaves the department short-staffed. Erickson will continue to work with personnel .
Civil Rights Review: October 9, 2014 UWEX will be going through a Civil Rights Review process which is done every four years to evaluate how we are reaching underserved populations.
LCG Center: Erickson updated the committee on her newly acquired position at LCG Center. Krueger gave his position on the importance of UW Extension and the importance of open communication. He would like more discussions with oversight committee to develop a strong relationship with UWEX and Sauk County.
Discussion/possible action: Repost the full-time Sauk Co. Wisconsin Nutrition Educator Program Coordinator position
WNEP Coordinator position will be posted due to the passing of the federal Farm Bill which funds the position. Erickson will work with Hanson to move forward with the hiring process. Motion was made by Stehling, second by Dietz to approve moving forward with the hiring process on the WNEP Coordinator position. Motion carried.
Agents Monthly Reports
4-H/Youth Development: Meg Sage reported on her first three months with Sauk County and gave a detailed report of her work; project trainings and volunteer orientations. 4-H project stations were set up.
CNRED: Jenny Erickson attended NELD in Chicago. She is also part of the Strategic Planning Team and has been compiling date for broadband. Erickson stated that some of our programs are planned and others are requested throughout the year as needs arise.
Discussion/Possible Action reporting form for outside organizations that receive county funds.
Ashford will discuss with other agencies to see how they handle this process. Committee questioned if a year-end statement from accounting would be appropriate. Table until March.
