Minutes of the Regular Meeting
February 22, 2012

Members present: Judy Ashford, Don Nobs, Lester Wiese, Joan Smoke, Donna Stehling and

Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 1:00 PM by Chair Ashford.

Certification of Open Meeting Notice
Requirements of the Open Meeting Law were met.

Approval of Agenda
Motion made by Smoke, second by Wiese to approve the amended agenda. Motion carried.

Approval of Minutes of Last Meeting
Motion made by Stehling, second by Nobs to approve the minutes of the special meeting of January 23, 2012 and amended minutes of the regular meeting of January 25, 2012. Motion carried.

Public Comment
None

Communications
o Nagelkerk shared correspondence from River Valley Shakespeare group and Sauk County Honors Music project
o Erickson discussed Fox Wisconsin cultural heritage site

Review Budget and Approval of Vouchers
UW Extension: Motion was made by Smoke, second by Stehling to approve the vouchers for the month of January in the amount of $21,708.02 (includes payout to Sauk County Ag Society). Motion carried.
Arts & Culture: A motion was made by Nobs, second by Wiese to approve the vouchers for the month of January in the amount of $10,495.00 (includes payout to Sauk County Historical Society). Motion carried.

Updates/Reports
UW Extension:
o Agriculture position has been posted, encouraged to get the word out
o Alice in Dairyland Scholarship update-transcripts were received from 2 of the 3 recipients; one recipient is paying tuition, but situation is unique. She has been named State FFA Officer and is only paying for internship at UW River Falls. Committee recommends S. Raschein receive her scholarship payout of $500.00
Arts & Culture:
o AHHP grants due February 24; panels will meet on March 13

ACTION ITEM: UW Extension Staff Annual Review with Matt Hanson, So. District Director
2011 Year in Review -presentation was given by extension agents highlighting on accomplishments and impacts. A motion was made by Wiese, second by Smoke to approve a successful performance review of Sauk County UWEX Agents for the 2011 calendar year. Motion carried.

ACTION ITEM: Consider Approval of Funding for Aging Disability Resource Center (ADRC) Talent Show
Art Carlson requested funding for a possible ADRC talent show. Motion was made by Smoke, second by Wiese to approve a $400.00 appropriation out of the Special Projects Budget to fund ADRC talent show contingent on show being held. Motion carried.

Annual Regranting Program Evaluation Meeting in Wausau
The required Regranting Program Evaluation annual meeting will be held in October. Attendance is required in order to receive Wisconsin Arts funding. No specific date has been set at this time; several committee members are interested in attending. Erickson will keep committee posted on dates.

AHHP Grant Final Reports 2011
Ashford will review reports. All final reports are completed with the exception of Sauk Prairie Historical Society (extension was granted until May 2012).

Consideration of Applications for Good Idea Grants
1. City of Wisconsin Dells & Lake Delton Parks/Rec Dept.– Requested $495.35 to fund Kidz Klub after school and summer day camp program supplies. Motion was made by Smoke, second by Stehling to tentatively approve the Good Idea Grant for $495.35 until May 2012 contingent on the success and approval of the Kidz Klub program. Motion carried.
2. Sauk Prairie Riverway Concerts- Requested $500.00 for summer concert series.
Motion made by Nobs, second by Wiese to delay action on the Good Idea Grant for $500.00 to Sauk Prairie Riverway Concert mini grant application until committee reviews how this application coincides with the major grant application. Motion carried.
3. Village of Merrimac – Requested $500.00 to help fund Concert in the Park series for Merrimac. Motion was made by Smoke, second by Stehling to approve the Good Idea Grant for $500.00 to the Village of Merrimac. Motion carried.
4. Sasha Parkevich – Requested $500.00 to fund a “Learning to Draw” course in Plain. Motion was made by Stehling, second by Smoke to approve the Good Idea Grant for $500.00 to Sasha Parkevich. Motion carried.
