PROPERTY AND INSURANCE COMMITTEE MEETING

December 02, 2014

             Approved Minutes

Members Present:         Scott VonAsten, Nathan Johnson, William Hambrecht, Jeff Giebel

Others Present:             Timothy Stieve, Elizabeth Geoghegan, Marty Krueger, Cindy Bodendein, Bill McClary, Jeff Vogt-Shaller

1.   Meeting called to order by Von Asten at 3:30 p.m. Compliance with Open Meeting Law was met.

2.   Adopt Agenda:  Motion by            Giebel, 2nd by Hambrecht to adopt Agenda.  Motion Carried.

3.   Adopt draft minutes of November 04, 2014 meeting: Motion by Giebel, 2nd by Hambrecht to adopt draft minutes.

      Carried.

4.   Public Comment:  Jeff Vogt-Shaller was present to provide information on Agenda Item 6. A. iii. Regarding his tax deed property.

5.   Communications:  Request by Sauk County Chapter Board of Wisconsin Right to Life, Inc. to hold peaceful rally on

      Courthouse Lawn on January 22, 2015 from 3:30 pm until 4:00 pm.  Motion to approve by N. Johnson, 2nd by

      Hambrecht.  Motion Carried.  

6.   Business Items:

   a. Treasurer’s Report – Monthly report

                   i.  Review and possible approval of resolution Rescinding so much of Resolution No. 118-2014 involving the taking of a tax deed on parcel number 146-1053-70530 in the Village of Lake Delton.  Motion to approve by Hambrecht, 2nd by N. Johnson.  Motion Carried.

                   ii.   Review and possible approval of resolution Rescinding so much of Resolution No. 118-2014 involving the taking of a tax deed on parcel number 146-0790-20200 in the Village of Lake Delton.  Motion to approve by Hambrecht, 2nd by Giebel.  Motion Carried.

                   iii.  Review and possible approval of resolution Rescinding so much of Resolution No. 118-2014 involving the taking of a tax deed on parcel number 018-0444-00000 in the Town of Greenfield.  Motion to approve by Hambrecht, 2nd by N. Johnson.  Motion Carried.

                   iv.  Review and possible approval of resolution Accepting bids on tax-delinquent real estate acquired by Sauk County. Motion to approve by Giebel to approve with the amendment that the bid on the Greenfield property be deleted from the resolution, 2nd by N. Johnson.  Motion Carried.

   b. Discussion regarding interest and penalty on delinquent taxes.  Motion by Giebel to table until the next

     meeting, 2nd by N. Johnson.  Motion Carried.

   c. Review and possible approval of Smoking Policy.  The updated ordinance was not yet completed, however, Cindy

     Bodendein did review what changes would be taking place.  Hope to have this final version ready for the January

     meeting.

   d. Discussion regarding County owned property along Clark Creek – Discussed what the committees wishes are in

     regards to these properties that were purchased via a grant to help with dealing with flooding issues.  Former

     property owner inquired about cutting wood on the property which prompted this discussion as to how we wish to

     proceed with the property.  Item will be discussed at future meeting(s) with options.

7.   Departmental Updates - Risk Management – Carl Gruber   

   a. Monthly Report – Tim reviewed the monthly report as Carl was not available.

   Departmental Updates – Tim Stieve

Monthly Report – Tim reviewed his monthly report including the following:Update on facility activities, including report from Bill McClary on his work on potential lighting changes at the Health Care Center.

Review and Approval vouchers. Motion by N. Johnson, 2nd by Giebel to approve vouchers. Carried.

8.   Public Comment. None.

9. Next Meeting date: January 6th, 2014 at 3:30 pm

10. Adjourn:  Motion by Giebel, 2nd Hambrecht by to adjourn. Motion Carried.
