The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by Clement. Certification of the open meeting law was noted.

Moved by Nobs. Second Haugen by to approve the agenda. Motion carried.

Moved by Brown. Second by Nobs, to adopt the minutes of the June 9, 2010 Public Health Board meeting. Motion carried.

Communications:

Letter from Seth Foldy, MD, MPH State Health Officer regarding Confirmation of Sauk County Health Department as a Level II Health Department

Public Comment: 

None

Business Items for Discussion and/or Action:

  1. A. Motion by Stehling, second by Brown to set the fee for Temporary Retail Food Establishments under Sauk County Ordinance, Chapter 44 at $ 65.00. Motion carried.
  2. B. Bodendein updated the board on the meetings that have taken place with state legal counsel and Sauk County Corporation Counsel. Sauk County agrees with the language provided by the state. “Contributions to a reserve for certain self insurance programs including workers compensation. unemployment compensation, and severance pay are allowable …….”
  3. C. Bodendein reported that a meeting has been scheduled with the regional office epidemiologist, health educator and a fellow on July 19 to start the process of the needs assessment. Judy Spring is unable to fulfill her obligation to complete the needs assessment for personal reasons.
  4. D. Discussion that health behaviors that lead to obesity are to be incorporated in the needs assessment.
  5. E. Stehling reported that the Continuum of Care Committee has not met since the last meeting.

Department updates:

  1. A. Financial and monthly reports reviewed for June 2010
  2. B. Motion by Nobs and second by Brown to approve the June 2010 invoices of $34,529.5. Motion carried.
  3. C. Haugen to summarize the minutes of the last state WAHLDAB teleconference and provide a copy to the board members.

  1. A. Continue Budget Process.
  2. B. Update on the needs assessment.
  3. C. Continuum of care committee report

Next meeting date: August 11, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. ETN room.

Motion by Haugen second by Stehling to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried. The time was 6:30 p.m.
