Sauk County Law Enforcement Committee

May 13, 2014

            The regular meeting of the Sauk County Law Enforcement Committee was held on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 09:30 am, in the Community Room, 1300 Lange Court, Baraboo, Wisconsin.

The meeting was properly posted and all interested parties were notified.

                        Members Present:        Wenzel, Dent, Johnson, Lehman, Moore

Others Present:            R. Meister, J. Machovec, J. Spencer, K. Fults, G. Hahn, L. Lange, M. Krueger, R. Greenwood, D. Madalane

  1. Call to Order and Certification of Open Meeting Law: The meeting was called to order and compliance with the Open Meeting Law was certified by William Wenzel at 9:30 am.

 

  1. Agenda:  Motion by Johnson seconded by Lehman to adopt the agenda. Motion carried.

 

  1. Approve minutes of Previous Meeting(s): Motion by Lehman seconded by Johnson approve the minutes from previous meeting(s) April 8, 2014.  Motion carried.

 

  1. Election of Committee Officers.

-Thank you letter from Baraboo Boys and Girls Club for our partnering in the drug and alcohol awareness

-Letter from Sue Niles thanking us for the sympathy for Phil Niles family

  1. Sauk County Animal Shelter operations update:

 

Animal Shelter took in 53 dogs and adopted/reclaimed 41 dogs.They also took in 89 cats and adopted out/transferred out 28 in the month of April. The Animal Shelter also took 2 guinea pigs, and 1 Ferret. The Animal Shelter dealt with a total of 9 bite cases; 8 dogs and 3 cats. They responded to 47 calls.

 

  1. Review and approve April 2014, expenses for Coroner:

Motion by Johnson seconded by Lehman to approve payment of the Coroner’s expenses for April 2014, in the amount of $3,494.38. Bills discussed. Motion carried.

 

  1. Review and approve April 2014, expenses for Sheriff:

Motion by Johnson seconded by Dent to approve payment of the Sheriff’s Department expenses for April 2014 in the amount of

Overtime Hours for April 2014 1,112.25 hours April 2013 was 1,348.25 hours

There was 106 Prisoner Transports in April 2014.

Prisoner Transport cost for 20 Juveniles was $5,853.40.

EM Report for April 365 offender days. Collected $6,205.00 and invoiced $1,394.30.

YTD Housing billing $233,035.17

 

11. Adjournment

 

The next regular meeting of the committee was scheduled for June 10, 2014 at 09:30 am. Motion by Johnson seconded by Moore to adjourn the meeting at 10:51 am. Motion Carried.
