February 9, 2016
The regular meeting of the Sauk County Law Enforcement Committee was held on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at 09:30 am, in the Community Room, 1300 Lange Court, Baraboo, Wisconsin.
The meeting was properly posted and all interested parties were notified.

- Call to Order and Certification of Open Meeting Law: The meeting was called to order and compliance with the Open Meeting Law was certified by William Wenzel at 9:30 am.
- Agenda: Motion by Deitrich seconded by Moore to adopt the agenda. Motion carried.
- Approve minutes of Previous Meeting(s): Motion by Deitrich seconded by Lehman to approve the minutes from previous meeting(s) January 12, 2016. Motion carried.
- Communications:
-Letter from Adam Fetherston thanking Deputy Cory Frank and Captain Stoddard for investigating a traffic ticket issued where someone used his name
-Email from Dispatch Sue Stoddard thanking Security Deputy Galvan for assisting in Spanish Translation.
-Email congratulating Tyler Greenwood and Sue Phillips for their effort in tracking down a 911 call during a sexual assault.
-Letter Richland County Sheriff’s Office thanking for our assistance with an ERT callout.
-Thank you card from a citizen whose car broke down and Deputy Rabata assisted him

- Sauk County Animal Shelter operations update and budget presentation:
Animal Shelter took in 31 dogs and adopted/reclaimed 28 dogs. They also took in 40 cats and adopted out/transferred out 57 in the month of January. The Animal Shelter also took in 1 finch, 3 guinea pigs and 1 parrot. They adopted out 1 finch, 2 guinea pigs, 1 parrot and 2 rabbits. The Animal Shelter dealt with a total of 5 bite cases all dogs. They responded to 19 calls and impounded 5 dogs, 7 cats.
- Review and approve January 2016, expenses for Coroner:
Motion by Deitrich seconded by Moore to approve payment of the Coroner’s expenses for December 2015, in the amount of $1,233.25. Bills discussed. Motion carried.
- Review and approve December 2015 and January 2016, expenses for Sheriff:
Motion by Moore seconded by Deitrich to approve payment of the Sheriff’s expenses for December 2015, in the amount of $84,197.77 and January 2016, in the amount of $39,565.08. Bills discussed. Motion carried.
- Discussion of MRAP
Advised the Committee that we are continuing to pursue the MRAP through the Military Surplus.
- Consideration and approval of Resolution Commending Susan K Emerson for more than Twenty-Eight Years of Faithful Service to the People of Sauk County. Motion by Deitrich, seconded by Dent. Motion Carried.
- Consideration and approval of Resolution Authorizing the Purchase of a 2016 Ford Explorer Replacement Squad Under Emergency Procedures. Motion by Deitrich, seconded by Dent. Motion Carried.
- Monthly update on CJCC.
Drug Court started in January. Currently we have 3 participants. The 3 participants are doing well and have started working some community service.

The next regular meeting of the committee was scheduled for Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 09:30 am. Motion by Dent seconded by Deitrich to adjourn the meeting at 10:11 am. Motion Carried.
