Sauk County Law Enforcement Committee

May 12, 2015

            The regular meeting of the Sauk County Law Enforcement Committee was held on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 09:30 am, in the Community Room, 1300 Lange Court, Baraboo, Wisconsin.

The meeting was properly posted and all interested parties were notified.

                        Members Present:        Wenzel, Dent, Moore, Deitrich

Members Absent:       

                        Members Excused:      G. Lehman

Others Present:            R. Meister, J. Machovec, J. Spencer, R. Laatsch, G. Hahn, R. Greenwood, T. Kriegl

 

  1. Call to Order and Certification of Open Meeting Law: The meeting was called to order and compliance with the Open Meeting Law was certified by William Wenzel at 9:30 am.

 

  1. Agenda:  Motion by Moore seconded by Deitrich to adopt the agenda. Motion carried.

 

  1. Approve minutes of Previous Meeting(s): Motion by Moore, seconded by Deitrich to approve the minutes from previous meeting(s) April 14, 2015.  Motion carried.

  1. Sauk County Animal Shelter operations update:

Animal Shelter took in 52 dogs and adopted/reclaimed 48 dogs.  They also took in 86 cats and adopted out/transferred out 27 in the month of April. The Animal Shelter also took 2 rabbits and 1 guinea pig and adopted 1 cockatiel and 1 turtle. The Animal Shelter dealt with a total of 8 bite cases, 7 dogs and 1 beaver. They responded to 43 calls and impounded 25 dogs, 9 cats and 1 beaver.

           

  1. Review and approve April 2015, expenses for Coroner:

Motion by Deitrich, seconded by Moore to approve payment of the Coroner’s expenses for April 2015, in the amount of $1,816.35.  Bills discussed. Motion carried.

 

 

  1. Review and approve April 2015, expenses for Sheriff:

Motion by Deitrich seconded by Dent to approve payment of the Sheriff’s expenses for April 2015, in the amount of $128,457.12. Bills discussed. Motion carried

 

      10. Consideration of Highway Safety Coordinator for Sauk County.

Overtime hours for April 2014 1,063.5 hours

291.5 hrs more due to Dive Team in Gotham and Jail Inservice

 

Prisoner Transports for April– 110 Transports

            32 Juveniles transported for April

            Juvenile Transport cost was $6,579.04

            Juvenile Housing Cost was $13,000.00
