Minutes of Meeting

Sauk County Law Enforcement Committee

November 10, 2014

            The regular meeting of the Sauk County Law Enforcement Committee was held on Monday, November 10, 2014 at 09:30 am, in the Community Room, 1300 Lange Court, Baraboo, Wisconsin.

The meeting was properly posted and all interested parties were notified.

                        Members Present:        Wenzel, Dent, Moore, Lehman, Johnson

  1. Call to Order and Certification of Open Meeting Law: The meeting was called to order and compliance with the Open Meeting Law was certified by William Wenzel at 9:31 am.

 

  1. Agenda:  Motion by Moore seconded by Dent to adopt the agenda. Motion carried.

 

  1. Approve minutes of Previous Meeting(s): Motion by Johnson seconded by Dent approve the minutes from previous meeting(s) October 14, 2014.  Motion carried.

 

  1. Communications:

-Thank you email from Kathy Laatsch of DOC for our assistance on Halloween with sex offender compliance checks

  1. Sauk County Animal Shelter operations update:

Animal Shelter took in 55 dogs and adopted/reclaimed 46 dogs.  They also took in 181 cats and adopted out/transferred out 73 in the month of October. The Animal Shelter also took 11 guinea pigs and 1 chicken. The Animal Shelter dealt with a total of 7 bite cases; 5 dogs (1 dog bit 2 people) and 1 cat. They responded to 46 calls and impounded 14 dogs and 27 cats.

           

  1. Review and approve October 2014, expenses for Coroner:

Motion by Johnson seconded by Moore to approve payment of the Coroner’s expenses for October 2014, in the amount of $3,197.78.  Bills discussed. Motion carried.

 

  1. Review and approve October 2014, expenses for Sheriff:

Motion by Moore seconded by Johnson to approve payment of the Sheriff’s Department expenses for October 2014 in the amount of $113,741.78.  Bills discussed. Motion carried.

 

 

 

  1. Sheriff’s Report.

 

            Calls for Service for October 5,399 calls

                       

Overtime hours for October 2013 746 hours

Overtime hours for October 2014 650.5 hours down 95.5 hrs

Year to date we are down.  2013 we had 10,906 hours we are down 1,057.25hrs to 9,848.75.

 

Prisoner Transports for October– 79 Transports

            18 Juveniles transported for October

            Juvenile Transport cost was $4,377.29 Housing Cost was $155.00

EM Report for October 644 offender days 

Collected $10,200.00 and invoiced $2,460.08

Difference of $7,739.92

 

 

YTD Housing Billing $615,108.56

 

The batteries for the current AED units will no longer be made so we need to look into new AEDs in the future.

 

Civil Process billing-we are looking in to going to a flat fee.

 

Rise Together will be coming into our facility to speak to our inmates about changing their lives and fighting through addiction.

 

M. Krueger requested that we have a monthly agenda item for Lt. Lange to speak on the CJCC committee.

 

11. Adjournment

The next regular meeting of the committee was scheduled for Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 09:30 am. Motion by Johnson seconded by Dent to adjourn the meeting at 9:58 am. Motion Carried.
