Sauk County Law Enforcement Committee

January 14, 2014

            The regular meeting of the Sauk County Law Enforcement Committee was held on Tuesday, January 14, 2013 at 09:30 am, in the Community Room, 1300 Lange Court, Baraboo, Wisconsin.

The meeting was properly posted and all interested parties were notified.

                        Members Present:        Stevens, Nobs, Johnson, Tollaksen, Halfen

  1. Call to Order and Certification of Open Meeting Law: The meeting was called to order and compliance with the Open Meeting Law was certified by Chair Donald Stevens at 9:30 am.

 

  1. Agenda:  Motion by Tollaksen, seconded by Halfen, to adopt the agenda. Motion carried.

 

  1. Approve minutes of Previous Meeting(s): Motion by Halfen, seconded by Nobs approve the minutes from previous meeting(s) December 10, 2013.  Motion carried.

  1. Sauk County Animal Shelter operations update:

Animal Shelter took in 26 dogs and adopted/reclaimed 23 dogs.They also took in 103 cats and adopted out/transferred out 33 in the month of December. The Animal Shelter also took 2 rabbits and 1 guinea pig. They adopted out 2 rabbits. The Animal Shelter had a total of 22 calls and picked up 19 cats and 10 dogs.

The Animal Shelter dealt with a total of 5 bite cases; 2 dogs and 3 cats.

 

  1. Review and approve December 2013, expenses for Coroner:

Motion by Tollaksen, seconded by Johnson, to approve payment of the Coroner’s expenses for December 2013, in the amount of $9,119.93. Bills discussed. Motion carried.

 

  1. Review and approve December 2013 and January 2014, expenses for Sheriff:

Motion by Johnson, seconded by Halfen, to approve payment of the Sheriff’s Department expenses for December 2013 in the amount of

 

      10. Sheriff’s Report.

We received $26,188 for County Tribal Law Enforcement Grant.

Number of Calls Report handed out. 4,902 calls for service in December 2013.

Overtime Hours for December 2013 1,731.50 hours December 2012 was 1,598.25 hours

There was 87 Prisoner Transports in December 2013.

Prisoner Transport cost for 7 Juveniles was $1,785.79.

EM Report for December 334 offender days. Collected $5,678.00 and invoiced $1,275.88.

Civil Process 166 papers served.

 

YTD Housing billing $822,227.75

The next regular meeting of the committee was scheduled for February 11, 2014 at 09:30 am. Motion by Johnson, seconded by Tollaksen to adjourn the meeting at10:01 am. Motion Carried.
