Certified compliance with Open Meetings Law.Meeting called to order at 3:30 p.m. by committee chair, Ryan Ramnarace.

Updates from previous Agendas:

Outcome of Judge Klicko’s review of truancy statutes.

Judge Klicko did make contact with Sauk County Truancy Committee Chair Clint Brickle (Vice Principal Baraboo High School).A committee meeting has not taken place in several years.There is interest from schools and courts to organize meeting.

Judge Klicko reports Sauk County Truancy Committee is likely the best place to address truancy issues in the county.The Truancy Committee includes all school districts in the county, related community partners and courts.This would allow for better exchange of ideas and sharing of successful programming between districts.Members agree truancy is a multi-faceted problem requiring a more coordinated response than can be provided by this sub-committee.

Judge Klicko will continue contact with Truancy Committee Chair Brickle with goal of organizing future meeting

Subcommittee informed, due to scheduling conflicts, Jim Daniels will no longer be on the Juvenile Justice Systems subcommittee. Chairman Ramnarace will contact Mike Albrecht to determine if he will continue with the subcommittee now that his job has changed at the District Attorney’s Office. School Resource Officer, Summer Karll, introduced to the subcommittee. Susan Baumann-Duren (alternate for Noelle Sapiro) introduced to the subcommittee.

Drop-in Project:

Project started as a grant proposal for a juvenile drop–in center. Grant was denied.

Juvenile Justice Systems Subcommittee is interested in developing a drop-in diversion program in Sauk County.
