1. Meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by Chairman Steve Bach and certified compliance with the open meeting law.
2. Motion by Carlson, second by Higgins to adopt the agenda. Motion carried.
3. Motion by Murray, second by Carlson to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. Motion carried.
4. No public comment
5. Communications – Art announced that he has put together a Senior Citizen Variety Show which will be at the Al Ringling Theater in Baraboo on September 21 as a fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Walk in Sauk County. Kim discussed recently published statistics regarding quality measures and also discussed the Oscar Report. There was also an article in a local paper discussing our Voluntary Ombudsmen Program.
6. Discussion and Consideration of the Steamer Resolution.
Motion by Murray, second by Smoke to approve the resolution and authorize the expenditure for the Steamer for the Dietary Department. Motion carried.
7. Discussion of Foundation activities. Stained glass window project is moving along. The financial statement was presented. Several disbursements were approved in the meeting held immediately before this one. The members approved a special meeting to work on a vision, mission and goals statement for the Foundation.
8. Business Office report. Theresa indicated that things continue to go well in the Business Office. Operation statement was discussed with nursing expenditures were up because of the quarantine. Vouchers for the month were reviewed. Aged receivables are down substantially.
Motion by Higgins, second by Netzinger to approve the vouchers in the amount of $94,621.88. Motion carried.
9. Administrator’s report. Kim updated the board on various activities of the HCC over the past month. The usual meetings were attended. Care Wisconsin contract was signed. We accepted the bid of Wipfli for the Market Analysis and have scheduled meetings. Kim also commended our staff, especially our Director of Nursing, Juli Brandt, for dedication to the care of our residents and assuring good infection control practices during the quarantine. We are again under quarantine for one neighborhood with an upper respiratory illness. We continue to have problems with our residents and the Medical Assistance program, and have talked with local and state officials regarding the issues. Bill Bishop of Human Services has been very helpful. More changes are coming to the Family Care Program in the near future.
10. Next meeting date is Thursday, April 12 at 5:30 p.m.
