Executive & Legislative Committee – Special Meeting

Members Present: Krueger, Fordham, Wenzel, Lane, and Stevens
Members Absent:
Others Present: DeMars, Schauf, and Liebman
Chair Krueger called the meeting to order at 5:05 P .M. and compliance with the Open Meeting Law was verified.
MOTION (Stevens/Fordham) to adopt the agenda. Motion carried unanimously.
Public Comment: None.
Communications:
Kathy Schauf provided a brief update on the Joint Review Board meeting advising the approval of the
Lake Delton TID #4.
Chair Krueger shared the following:
- 10/15/13 Letter to Dean Pleger; re: Endorsement of UW Baraboo/Sauk County’s application for grant funds to incorporate research space as a component in the science facility construction.
Consideration of a Resolution Proclaiming November 11 – 15, 2013, Grater Sauk County Foundation Week:
MOTION (Wenzel/Lane) to approve resolution and forward to the County Board for consideration at the October 15, 2013 meeting. Motion carried unanimously.
Possible closed session pursuant to Wis. Stat. s. 19.85(1)(g), conferring with legal counsel for the governmental body who is rendering oral or written advice concerning strategy to be adopted by the body with respect to litigation in which is, or is likely to become involved. MOTION (Wenzel/Lane) to reconvene in open session immediately following closed session. Motion carried unanimously.
Authorizing the Corporation Counsel to Dismiss the Case of Sauk County V. U.S. Department Of The Interior based upon substantial compliance of the U.S. Government with Sauk County’s FOIA request:
MOTION (Wenzel/Stevens) to approve resolution recommending Corporation Counsel to dismiss this case based upon an outcome that is satisfactory to Sauk County and forward resolution to the County Board for consideration at the October 15, 2013 meeting. Motion carried unanimously.
MOTION (Fordham/Wenzel) to adjourn until Monday, November 4, 2013 at 4:00 P.M. Motion carried unanimously.
