The meeting was called to order and certification of Open Meeting compliance was given at 4:30 p.m. The agenda was approved on a motion by Polivka, second by Stehling. Motion carried.
The meeting minutes from the prior meeting were approved on a motion by Vedro, second by Riek. Motion carried.

Report by Donna Neuwirth, Wormfarm on Fermentation Fest
Route will change every three years. Surveys, interviews, qualitative and quantitative measures of the Fermentation Festival were shared. Draws from many locations. 99% of respondents indicated they would return.
Update on Great Sauk Trail Commission. No meeting was held. Still on schedule. Determined preferred route and surface.
Update on Sauk County Development Corporation
Krueger updated the committee on the planning process that is being undertaken to renew the vision and purpose of the organization.
Discussion on Placemaking
Greg Wise of the Center for Community and Economic Development presented on placemaking. Framed the discussion of economic development around quality of life assets: Natural, cultural, human, social, political, financial, and built to demonstrate why placemaking is a crucial aspect of economic development.
Discussion of “crowdfunding” as a tool for economic development initiatives; and strategies for broadband. Motion by Stehling, second by Polivka to postpone to the next agenda.
Next meeting agenda items: Matt Kures of the Center for Community and Economic Development to be invited to attend the February meeting to discuss regional statitics.
Next meeting: Monday, January 26 at 4:00 p.m. Motion by Polivka, second by Johnson, to adjourn. Motion carried.
