The meeting was called to order and certification of Open Meeting compliance was given at 4:30 p.m. The agenda was approved on a motion by Vedro, second by Stehling. Motion carried.
The meeting minutes from the prior meeting were approved on a motion by Polivka, second by Riek. Motion carried.

Update on Sauk County Development Corporation
Brief update regarding the upcoming November 12, 2014, Fall Leadership Forum. Please plan on attending and invite your peers.
Update on Great Sauk Trail Commission. Stehling and Krueger provided an update from Wednesday’s meeting. Trail naming, stakeholders and proposed uses.
Operational report on fiber infrastructure. Jamie Goldsmith of LaValle Telephone Cooperative and Brett Schuppner of the Reedsburg Utility Commission presented information on build-out and service provision
Discussion and consideration of strategies for Sauk County Broadband / next steps.
Coverage and challenges that providers experience were discussed. Build-out in rural areas is extremely expensive and will require investment from all local communities.
Discussion on Placemaking Alan Anderson and Keri Olson joined the committee to update the committee regarding the ArtsGrant-Placemaking seminar in Wisconsin. It’s about being who you are.
Next steps: 1. Gain concurrence of the work around place-making as an economic development initiative; 2. Assure that the resources exist to accomplish goals; 3. Proceed to develop process (planning, grants and funding) Motion by Vedro, second by Stehling, to support the Economic Development Committees’ focus on placemaking and development of both low hanging fruit and working for long term county identity. Motion carried.
Next meeting: Monday, November 24 , 2014, 4:30 p.m. Motion by Polivka, second by Riek, to adjourn. Motion carried.
