The meeting was called to order and certification of Open Meeting compliance was given at 6:00 p.m.  The agenda was approved on a motion by Peper, second by Polivka . Motion carried.

 

The meeting minutes from the prior meeting were approved on a motion by Polivka, second by Stehling .  Motion carried.

Introductions were provided by committee members and board members in attendance.

 

Broadband presentation and discussion

 

Jenny Erickson, Sauk County UW-Extension and Andy Lewis, UW- Extension Center for Community Technology Solutions presented information that and facilitated discussion around the following questions and points:

 

Broadband: What is it exactly?

Broadband as a tool for community and economic development.

What is currently happening in the state? How does Wisconsin stand versus the rest of the nation?

Where does Sauk County and Plain stand in the state? How much broadband is available here and how is it being used?

Results from the Broadband Demand Survey and LinkWisconsin maps.

Obstacles to broadband development and strategies for improving connectivity.

 

Motion by Polivka, second by Peper, to adjourn.  Motion carried.
