The meeting was called to order and certification of Open Meeting compliance was given at 5:45 p.m. The agenda was approved on a motion by Riek, second by Polivka. Motion carried. The minutes from the prior meeting were approved on a motion by Polivka, second by Fish. Motion carried.

Communications:
None

Consideration of Outside agencies budgets:
Baraboo Dells Airport – Cheryl Geise presented the request on behalf of the owners. Request amount - $4,100
Sauk Prairie Airport – David Landsverk presented on behalf of the railroad - Request amount - $4,100
Wisconsin River Rail Transit – Dennis Polivka – Request amount - $28,000. Ken Lucht, WSOR provided an update on the relationship that the Wisconsin Southern Railroad has with the Wisconsin River Rail Transit along with the request presented by Polivka.
Pink Lady Rail Transit – Alan Anderson presented on behalf of the rail transit commission. - Request amount - $585
Reedsburg Airport – Britt Solverson, Airport Manager, presented on behalf of the Reedsburg airport. – Request amount - $4,100

Recommendations of budgets to the Finance Committee
Motion by Riek, second by Stehling to approve the budget request of: Baraboo Dells Airport - $4,100; Sauk Prairie Airport - $4,100; Wisconsin River Rail Transit – $28,000; Pink Lady Rail Transit - $585; Reedsburg Airport - $4,100; and to move the proposal forward to the Finance Committee. Motion carried.

Appearance by Steve Schneider of Hilbert Communications detailing plan for build-out of infrastructure for broadband and cellular technology in Sauk County.
Program was described in detail by Steve Schneider.

Consideration of a request by Hilbert Communications for Midwestern Disaster Area Revenue Bond Financing and providing for a County guarantee.
Motion by Polivka, second by Riek, to recommend that the Communications Infrastructure Committee and Finance Committee consider the expansion of broadband (mobility platform) in Sauk County through the issuance of Midwestern Disaster Area Revenue Bond Financing and providing for a County guarantee. Motion carried. It is planned to go to both committees in September and be described to the Board of Supervisors in September, considered in October.

Motion by Lehman, second by Polivka, to postpone items 9 and 10 to the next regular meeting of the Economic Development Committee. Motion carried.

Meeting date and agenda items for next meeting. Stakeholder meeting - To be determined. Regular committee meeting is set for Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. Agenda items: Consideration of outside agency requests; Discussion of projects and priorities; Process for discussion of potential uses /re-uses of the closed landfill property.

Motion by Fish, second by Riek, to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried.
