ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE MINUTES 

Village of Lake Delton

Lake Delton, Wisconsin                                                                                   November 20, 2023 

 

Economic Development Committee Members Present:  Robert Prosser, Brandon Lohr, Bryant Hazard, Smooth Detter, Timothy McCumber and Marty Krueger

 

Others Present: Melanie Platt-Gibson, Erin Hauck, Eric Sauey, Pam Coy & Jacob Williams

 

 At 4:02 pm, Chair Tim McCumber called the Economic Development Committee meeting to order and certified compliance with the open meetings law. 

 

Adopt Agenda: Motion to adopt agenda by Prosser, 2nd by Hazard. Motion carried. 

 

Adopt Minutes from the Previous Meeting: Motion by Prosser, 2nd by Hazard to approve the October 16, 2023 minutes. Motion carried. 

 

Public comment: None  

 

Communication: None

 

Seats, Inc. Nordic Group Presentation: Eric Sauey, President of Seats, Inc., provided the Sauk County Economic Development Committee with an overview of the company, as well as insights into the full Nordic Group and its global holdings. With 300,000 square feet of space in Reedsburg today alone, the group began in 1948 and continues to grow and diversify. Mr. Sauey took the group on a tour of the Reedsburg-based facility and answered questions regarding Sauk County’s business climate, opportunities and challenges.

 

Viking Village Foods Presentation: Pam Coy, owner and Jacob Willams, GM, of Viking Village Foods in Reedsburg shared a presentation about their multi-pronged organization including the grocery store, farms, specialty gardens and more. The group was provided a great tour of the store, where committee members specifically enjoyed the hot food bar offerings.

 

Development Director’s Report: Platt-Gibson provided her Director’s Report.

 

Next Meeting Dates & Agenda Items:

December 18, 2023 – 4 pm at Teel Plastics, Baraboo

 

Adjourn: Motion to adjourn at 5:45 pm by Detter, 2nd by Hazard. Motion Carried.
