The meeting was called to order and certification of Open Meeting compliance was given at 4:30 p.m.  The agenda was approved on a motion by Polivka, second by Vedro. Motion carried.

 

The meeting minutes from the prior meeting were approved on a motion by Vedro, second by Riek.  Motion carried.

 

Public Comment  None

 

Communications  None.

 

Operational report on fiber infrastructure.  S. Schneider reported on build-out of Sauk County Tower program with Hilbert Communications.

 

Discussion and consideration of strategies for Sauk County Broadband / next steps.  A brief update on the BAT survey was given.  103 responses have been logged over the last week in response to the mailing.

Vendors will be invited to present information to the committee for guidance on how they perceive government working with providers.  It is also intended to gain an understanding of where they are and what types of services they provide.
We will look at creating a map of coverage in rural areas.

 

Update on Sauk County Development Corporation.  The board and agency are in a period of transition.  The Board will be working with a facilitator / consultant to develop a process and plan for the organizations’ future.  Local partners have indicated that they are committed to funding for 2015 and the new direction.  New interfaces with local government partners will be enabled.  The fall economic development leadership forum will be hosted by the Corporation.  Ray Cross will keynote the fall leadership session on workforce, how to educate them and how to attract them.  Prior to the session he will host a listening session with businesses on what they hope to receive from the university system.

 

Update on Great Sauk Trail Commission.  September 24, 2014, 6:00 p.m., River Arts Center in Prairie du Sac is the first of the two public input forums.  An aggressive nine month planning process has been designed.  Process stakeholders are in the process of being identified.

 

Discussion of Intergovernmental meeting of April 30, 2014.  Motion by Riek, second by Vedro, to postpone to the next regular meeting.

 

Next meeting:   September 29, 2014, 4:30 p.m or October 1, 2014 at 4:30 p.m.

 

Motion by Riek, second by Vedro, to adjourn.  Motion carried.
