A quorum may be present consisting of members of the Aging & Disability Resource Center Committee; Economic Development Committee; Finance, Personnel & Insurance Committee; Health and Human Services Committee; Land Resources & Extension Committee; Law Enforcement & Judiciary Committee; Public Works and Infrastructure Committee; and Executive & Legislative Committee. No governing body will exercise any responsibilities, authority, or duties except for the Land Resources and Extension Committee. It is possible that a quorum of county board members will be at this meeting to gather information about a subject over which they have decision-making responsibility. This constitutes a meeting of the County Board pursuant to State ex rel Badke v. Greendale Village Board, Wis 2d 553, 494 n.w.2d 408 (1993), and must be noticed as such, although the County Board will not take any formal actions at this meeting. It is also possible that there may be quorums of other County Board Committees present, although those committees will not take any formal action at this meeting.

Land Resources and Extension (LRE) Committee members present: M. Krueger, D. Polivka, P. Kinsman, B. Spencer, R. Puttkamer, L. Eberl.
Others present: T. Kabat, R. Meyer, P. Peterson, T. Starjnski
Absent: R. Prosser (excused), V. McAuliffe (excused), B. Lohr (excused)
At 9:03 a.m. Chairman Krueger called the Land Resources and Extension Committee meeting to order. LRE staff certified the meeting to be compliant with Open Meetings Law.
Adopt agenda - Motion by Eberl / Spencer to adopt the January 27, 2026, agenda. Motion carried unanimously
Adopt minutes of previous meeting – January 8, 2026 - Motion by Puttkamer / Polivka to adopt the January 8, 2026, LRE Committee meeting minutes. Motion carried unanimously.
Public comment – No public comment.
Communications – T. Kabat noted the recent newspaper article on the Wisconsin River recreational bridge project. T. Kabat noted the first pasture walk of 2026 is at Echo-Y on January 31st. T. Kabat also noted that Land Conservation is partnering with SSWIG for a workshop and with UW Extension for a workshop on Feb. 13. He noted early bird registration for the annual Land and Water Conference at Chula Vista winners for the annual poster contest are displayed by the water fountain on the second floor.

- Review and approval of vouchers. T. Kabat presented Land Resources and Environment Department 2025 vouchers in the amount of $50,856.98 and 2026 vouchers in the amount of $75,656.25. Motion by Eberl / Spencer to pay two (2) sets vouchers for the LRE Department in the total amount of $126,513.23. Motion carried unanimously.
- Review and approval / denial of the 2025 Sauk deer damage claims: Phil Peterson. Phil Peterson requested payment for the 2025 Sauk deer damage claims for Frank Dwyer in the amount of $462.64 and Jon Woolever in the amount of $519.94. Motion by Puttkamer / Polivka to approve the 2025 Sauk deer damage claims as presented. Motion carried unanimously.
- Discussion and possible action on the purchase of a zero-turn mower for Parks and Recreation. T. Kabat presented bids for the purchase of a zero-turn mower for Parks and Recreation. Motion by Polivka / Kinsman to accept the bid from Farmers Implement LLC in the amount of $12,949.00 for the purchase of a zero-turn mower for Parks and Recreation. Motion carried unanimously.
- Discussion and possible action on the purchase of a brush mower for Parks and Recreation. T. Kabat presented bids for the purchase of a brush mower for Parks and Recreation. Motion by Eberl / Spencer to accept the bid from Johnson Tractor in the amount of $7,950.00 for the purchase of a brush mower for Parks and Recreation. Motion carried unanimously.
- Discussion and possible action on purchase of a vehicle for Land Conservation. T. Kabat presented bids for the purchase of a vehicle for Land Conservation. Motion by Polivka / Kinsman to accept the bid from Ewald Automotive Group for a 2026 Ford Ranger in the amount of $36,012.00 for the purchase of a vehicle for Land Conservation. Motion carried unanimously.
Next meeting dates: Thursday, February 12, 2026, and Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 9:00 am
Adjournment - Motion to adjourn by Spencer / Kinsman at 9:19 a.m. Motion carried, unanimously.
