6. Public hearing: To begin at approximately 9:15 a.m. (Committee to consider and take possible action at the conclusion of the respective hearing.)
a. Discussion and possible action on petition #10-2016, to consider granting of a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) pursuant to s.7.040(3) to authorize a wood fabrication business. This property is located in Section 35, T13N, R2E, Town of Woodland, owned by Abe Bontrager.

Conservation, Planning, and Zoning (CPZ) Committee members present: J. Ashford, N. Johnson, D. Polivka, J. Fish, J. Dietz, E. Peterson, C. Lehman, S. Laubscher.
Absent: None.
Others present: B. Michalek, M. Krueger, R. Fry, G. Templin, D. Lorenz, P. Dederich, D. O’Rourke, M. Pozewitz.
At 9:00 a.m. Chair Polivka called the Conservation, Planning, and Zoning Committee meeting to order and Templin certified to be in compliance with the Open Meetings Law.
Adopt agenda: Motion by J. Dietz/J. Ashford to adopt the agenda as presented. Motion carried, all in favor.
Motion by C. Lehman/E. Peterson to approve the March 10th CPZ Committee meeting minutes. Motion carried, all in favor.
Public Comment:
None
Communications:
a. County-wide Farm Inventory Post Cards. Michalek spoke of the farm inventory post cards and requirement for the LWRM. Lehman asked how that is taken care of. Michalek spoke of interns and 600 farms claiming tax credits, however all farms need to be inspected.
He also spoke of a thank you letter from John Opland.
Public Hearing: To begin at approximately 9:15 a.m. (Committee to consider and take possible action at the conclusion of the respective hearing.)
a. Discussion and possible action on petition #10-2016, granting of a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) pursuant to s.7.040(3) to authorize a wood fabrication business. This property is located in Section 35, T13N, R2E, Town of Woodland, owned by Abe Bontrager.
Dave Lorenz appeared and provided and history and background of the property and request, reviewed a map and photos of the property and any conditions associated if the committee chooses to approve the conditional use permit. He noted that the Town of Woodland recommended approval with no additional conditions outside of the County zoning ordinance.
Fish confirmed if the Town of Woodland provided approval. Lorenz stated the applicant stated this in the application, however the Department has not received anything in writing from the Township.
Polivka asked if the Department sees any reason not to approve this request. Lorenz stated the applicant is coming into conformance with the ordinance and has received no complaints.
Seeing as there was no one else that wished to speak, Chair Polivka closed the public hearing at 9:25 a.m.
Motion by E. Peterson/N. Johnson to approve the Conditional Use Permit (CUP) with the conditions recommended to authorize a wood fabrication business, with the condition that the Town of Woodland has approved the request. Motion carried, all in favor.
County Surveyor
a. Department Report and Voucher. Dederich provided a department report and vouchers in the amount of $5,600.00. Motion by J. Ashford/J. Dietz to approve the report and vouchers in the amount of $5,600.00. Motion carried, all in favor.
Discussion and possible action on appointing WI Land and Water Representative and Alternate. Michalek explained appointment. Motion by J. Dietz/N. Johnson to nominate Connie Lehman and Eric Peterson as the WI Land and Water Representative and Alternate Representative. Motion carried, all in favor.
Discussion and possible approval of a single family residence CUP pursuant to s7.074(3) for Nick Casey located in S7, T12N, R4E, Town of Reedsburg. Michalek appeared and provided a background on the request and the need for the approval by committee. Motion by C. Lehman/J. Dietz to approve the single family residence pursuant to s.7.074(3) for Nick Casey. Motion carried, all in favor.
Possible closed session pursuant to Wis. Stats 19.85(1)(c) Considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the [governmental] body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. Performance Evaluation. Conservation, Planning and Zoning Director. Motion by J. Fish/J. Ashford to go into closed motion. Roll call: AYES (8) Peterson, Lehman, Fish, Ashford, Dietz, Johnson, Laubscher, Polivka. NAYS (0). Motion carried, all in favor.
Motion by J. Ashford/J. Dietz to reconvene in open session immediately following closed session. Motion carried unanimously.
Next meetings of the Conservation, Planning, and Zoning Committee will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. and Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. Motion by J Ashford/J Dietz to adjourn at 11:00 a.m. Motion carried, all in favor.
