Approved Minutes

Members Present:     Tommy Lee Bychinski, Scott VonAsten, Nathan Johnson, Michelle Dent

Others Present:          Tim Stieve, Phil Raab, Jeff Spencer, Richard Meister

Excused:                   William Hambrecht

1.   Meeting called to order by Bychinski at 3:30 p.m. Compliance with Open Meeting Law was met.

2.   Adopt Agenda:  Motion by Johnson, 2nd by Dent to approve agenda. Carried.

3.   Approve minutes from August 07, 2014 meetings:  Motion by Von Asten, 2nd by Johnson to approve minutes.  Carried.

4.   Public Comment – None.

5.   Communications – Tim noted that Josh Kowalke sent an email that he was not going to be able to make the meeting and had nothing to report.

6.   Business Items:

      a.   Update on recording of County Meetings: Tim provided the update as Steve was unable to attend.  Steve sent an email correcting the amount being budgeted that he mention at the previous meeting.  Tim noted that noted Steve is hoping to have the IPad’s for the CIC next month.

      b.   Update on Towers

            i.   Narrowbanding update.  Phil noted that Narrowbanding upgrades were turned on for Sheriff’s repeater and all was working well, will be working on EMS Fire Channel next couple days.

            ii.  Tim discussed Tower Ventures request to extend the existing lease of the property at the Landfill.  Existing lease is for 27 years and Tower Ventures would like to extend that for at least 40 years or do some sort of perpetual easement.  Tim noted that per Corporation Counsel a perpetual easement would not be legal and that any really long term lease is most likely not in the best interest of the County, however it is a Committee decision.  Committee agreed that the existing terms are adequate and there is no need to work on an extension.             

       c.  Update on Fiber

            i.    Tim handed out and reviewed Amendment#1 to the Dark Fiber Lease with WIN along with the resolution.

                  WIN is requesting to lease an additional 145.94 miles of Fiber.  Motion by Johnson, 2nd by Von Asten

                  to Approve.  Carried.          

      d.   Report from Fire, EMS & Police Representatives.

            i.    none.

7.   Next regular meeting was scheduled for October 2nd, 2014 at 3:30 p.m.

8.   Adjourn:  Motion by Dent, 2nd by Von Asten to adjourn. Carried.
