COMMUNICATIONS INFRASTRUCTURE COMMITTEE MEETING

June 05, 2014

Approved Minutes

Members Present: Tommy Lee Bychinski, Scott VonAsten, Nathan Johnson, Michelle Dent, William Hambrecht

Others Present: Tim Stieve, Phil Raab, Steve Pate

1. Meeting called to order by Bychinski at 3:30 p.m. Compliance with Open Meeting Law was met.

2. Adopt Agenda: Motion by Von Asten, 2nd by Johnson to approve agenda. Carried.

3. Approve minutes from May 08, 2014 meetings: Motion by Dent, 2nd by Hambrecht to approve minutes.

Carried.

4. Public Comment – None.

5. Communications – Tim noted that Josh Kowalke and Kevin Stieve EMS and Fire representatives respectively, sent

emails that they were not going to be able to make the meeting and neither of them had any report.

6. Business Items:

a. Update on recording of County Meetings: Steve Pate noted he will be budgeting $10,000 to provide additional

audio recording in some meeting rooms, in particular room 213. Discussion followed regarding what should be

done with which meeting rooms. Committee suggested increasing the budget amount from $10,000 to $20,000.

b. Update on Towers

i. Narrowbanding update. Phil noted that all equipment received to date has been staged at the tower sites.

Waiting on some additional equipment to arrive and the final licenses. Once these are received he can begin

turning on equipment.

c. Update on Fiber

i. Tim noted that the bids on the South Blvd Fiber moves are due back on June 12th, 2014. Tim requested

that the committee meet prior to County Board to review the bids and approve a contractor.

ii. Tim handed out and reviewed the Easement at Sauk City Tower Site for Merrimac Communications,

discussion followed. Motion by Von Asten, 2nd by Dent to Approve. Carried.

iii. Tim handed out and reviewed the changes to the Exchange of Services agreement with Reedsburg Utilities,

discussion followed. Motion by Johnson, 2nd by VonAsten to Approve. Carried.

d. Report from Fire, EMS & Police Representatives.

i. None.

7. Next regular meeting was scheduled for July 3rd, 2014 at 3:30 p.m.

8. Adjourn: Motion by VonAsten, 2nd by Hambrecht to adjourn. Carried.
