1. Call Meeting to Order:
The meeting was called to order and certification of Open Meeting compliance was given at 4:03p.m.
2. Agenda:
Motion by P. Rego, second by L. Lange to adopt agenda. Motion carried.
3. Minutes:
Motion by T. Dorner, second by P. Rego to approve previous meeting minutes. Motion carried.
4. Public Comment: NONE
5. Monthly Justice, Diversion & Support Report:
Programs Manager A. Hanson explained the Adult Treatment Court referral process through acceptance stage. Tax Levy participants are violent offenders & TAD participants are non-violent offenders. The program currently has 13 active participants.
6. Update on Jail Mental Health:
Captain Lange- hasn’t had time to calculate numbers. Jared Pierce is at jail fulltime. In 2021 there were 1,125 mental health visits (new request and follow ups). DHS crisis staff works closely with Jared Pierce on mental health needs at the jail.
7. Discussion on NACO process and Sauk County participation
Conference in May- A. Hanson is attending, needs an elected official to go with. Need more elected officials to participate. T. McCumber said he may be interested, depending on the election. After the conference, will have a better idea of the direction to take.
8. Discussion of current Board makeup and vacancies
Paul Kujak- citizen member resigned. Don McCune and Erica Lehr-Reuber attended today’s meeting to see if they are interested. The purpose of the CJCC is to collaborate and identify ways to improve Sauk County to makes processes better.
9. Review and approve Treatment Court Policy and Procedures Manual:
Revisions reflect changes that have been identified to make the process better and recommendations how other treatment courts operate. Motion by L. Lange, second by D. Scanlon. Motion carried.
10. Committee Reports:
a. Adult Justice Systems
Has not met for a few months due to committee member vacancies. May be time to start fresh and move forward.

b. Juvenile Justice Systems
Has not met for a few months due to committee member vacancies. May be time to start fresh and move forward.

c. Victims Focus Committee
J. Sathasivam reports that SART and DVRT have reformed. Interview room is almost complete. Equipment is in and staff is being trained.
11. Initial discussion on future strategic and program planning:
County elections coming up- board members may change. T. Dorner suggests electing committee members after May 17th. To have a productive plan, a dedicated time may need to be scheduled. This committee was stagnant thorough pandemic.
12. Next meeting date and agenda items:
Next Meeting: June 6, 2022 @ 3:30 p.m. in the WSB Room 213.
