The meeting was called to order and compliance with the open meeting law was certified. It should be noted that due to a request from another committee our meeting was moved from the EMBS meeting room to Room 213 in the West Square Building. Christopher Polzer did place a sign at the EMBS meeting room and also had sent an email to all committee members prior to our meeting alerting them of this change.
The agenda was adopted with a motion by Jay Englund and a second by Cathy Warwick. The motion carried on a 6/0 vote.
There were no minutes to approve from the last meeting since we did not have a quorum on October 4, 2017, and we did not meet in November.
There was no public comment
There were no communications.
Marty Krueger provided an update on the formation of a County Board Committee to look at challenges and opportunities with housing for individuals in Sauk County.
The committee did hear a presentation and received some materials from Jacob Johnson, the Homeless Prevention and Intervention Case Manager at CWCAC which is housed in the Sauk County Job Center. Jacob told the committee members about different eligibility requirements for two rapid re-housing programs that he works with.
Chief Strunz suggested that we postpone discussion of a pre-trial supervision/bail monitoring program to our next meeting due to the amount of time that was spent discussing the housing issues listed above. Chief Strunz noted there was a concern raised at the Sauk County Chiefs of Police meeting earlier in the day about individuals being sent to the Baraboo Police Department for breath testing on a daily basis. Chief Strunz passed along that the Baraboo PD was never requested to do this, and that some of the people that are showing up for testing are not Baraboo residents. According to Chief Schauf, these individuals are being court ordered to show up for testing.
The next meeting of the CJCC Adult Justice Committee is scheduled for January 3, 2018.
There was a motion by Cathy Warwick and a second by Jay Englund to adjourn the meeting at 4:35 P.M. Motion carried on a 6/0 vote.
