Canvassers reviewed the zero report tapes to verify all totals were zero at the beginning of the night on the tabulation equipment. Votes cast at the February 20, 2018 Spring Primary Election were verified reviewing the highest number of votes cast is the same or less than the highest numbers of voters reporting on poll lists, and verifying that the number of ballots cast is the same or less than the highest number of voters on the poll lists. Inspectors’ Statements and Incident Logs were also reviewed and canvass incidents and adjustments noted.
One provisional ballot was canvassed and counted. No discrepancies were noted.
Items of note:
Town of Excelsior had 177 voters listed on the front of the poll book; tapes from the machine show 178 voters. Draw down of one ballot was conducted by Town of Excelsior Municipal Board of Canvassers, resulting in (-1) vote for Tim Burns.
Town of Spring Green had 214 voters listed on the front of the poll book; tapes from the machine show 215 voters. On Election Day, an over-voted ballot was cast instead of being spoiled. The voter was then given a new ballot, resulting in the count to be over by one. The over-vote did show on the machine tape.
City of Reedsburg had 714 voters listed on the front of the poll book; tape from the machine show 715 voters. Draw down of one blank ballot was conducted by City of Reedsburg Municipal Board of Canvassers.
