REGULAR MEETING
ATTENDANCE:
Members Present: Arthur Carlson, Chair, Janice Brown, Ruth Dawson, Vern Demers, Theron Hill, Phyllis Johnson, Eileen Klepper, and Janet Pearson
Others Present: Trish Vandre, Aging & Disability Resource Center of Sauk County Director and Thomas Litscher, Aging & Disability Resource Center of Sauk County Mobility Operations Manager.
Absent: None.

CALL TO ORDER AND CERTIFY COMPLIANCE WITH OPEN MEETING LAW: The Meeting was called to order by A. Carlson at 8:32 a.m. and was certified to be in compliance with the Open Meeting Law.

ADOPT AGENDA: Motion by V. Demers to adopt the Agenda, second by R. Dawson. Motion carried.

ADOPT MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING: Motion by V. Demers to approve the February 7, 2012 Regular Meeting Minutes, second by J. Pearson. Motion carried.

CONSIDER POSSIBLE ELECTION OF THE AGING & DISABILITY RESOURCE CENTER ADVISORY COMMITTEE CHAIR: Motion by V. Demers to elect A. Carlson as the Aging & Disability Resource Center Advisory Committee Chair, second by R. Dawson.  Motion carried.

CONSIDER POSSIBLE ELECTION OF THE AGING & DISABILITY RESOURCE CENTER ADVISORY COMMITTEE VICE CHAIR: Motion by V. Demers to elect J. Pearson as the Aging & Disability Resource Center Advisory Committee Vice-Chair, second by P. Johnson. Motion carried.

CONSIDER POSSIBLE ELECTION OF THE AGING & DISABILITY RESOURCE CENTER ADVISORY COMMITTEE SECRETARY: Motion by J. Pearson to elect J. Wurcherer as the Aging & Disability Resource Center Advisory Committee Secretary, second by V. Demers. Motion carried.

PUBLIC COMMENT: None.

COMMUNICATIONS: A. Carlson provided information regarding the Senior Talent Night.

BOARD DEVELOPMENT: T. Vandre presented board development information for Committee discussion.

AGING & DISABILITY RESOURCE CENTER DEPARTMENTAL UPDATE: T. Vandre presented the Departmental Update for Committee discussion.

ADVOCACY:
A. Response to Mailings Received by Members: None.

B. Update from the Communities: Issues Raised, Priorities Expressed: An issue raised by a Committee member regarding removing the stigma about calling the County for assistance. An inquiry raised by a Committee member regarding the Elder Benefit Specialists and Aging & Disability Specialists possibly training ‘Ambassadors’ at each apartment complex to refer residents to the Aging & Disability Resource Center for options counseling.

C. Legislative Update: T. Vandre discussed the future of SeniorCare, managed care organizations (family care) and Older Americans Act (Title III) funding for Committee discussion.

AGING & DISABILITY RESOURCE CENTER OF SOUTHWEST WISCONSIN – NORTH BOARD UPDATE: None.

BUSINESS ITEMS:
A. 2013-2015 Aging Unit Plan Development: T. Vandre presented the Plan timelines and focus areas for Committee discussion. T. Vandre also provided an opportunity to the Committee to go back to their districts to solicit information.

B. 2013 Budget Process: Review Aging & Disability Resource Center Mission, Vision, and Program Priorities: T. Vandre distributed and presented the Aging & Disability Resource Center Mission, Vision, and Program Priorities for Committee discussion.

NEXT MEETING: The next Regular Aging & Disability Resource Center Advisory Committee Meeting will be held Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at 8:30 a.m. at the West Square Building, 505 Broadway, Baraboo, Wisconsin 53913.

ADJOURNMENT: Motion by R. Dawson to adjourn the Aging & Disability Resource Center Advisory Committee at 10:17 a.m., second by E. Klepper. Motion carried.
