REGULAR MEETING
ATTENDANCE:
Members Present: Arthur Carlson, Chair, Phyllis Johnson, Peter Murray, Darwin Nelson, and Janet Pearson.
Others Present: Trish Vandre, Aging & Disability Resource Center of Sauk County Director, and Lee J. Roundy, Aging & Disability Resource Center of Sauk County Fiscal Accounting Technician.
Absent: Theron Hill
CALL TO ORDER AND CERTIFY COMPLIANCE WITH OPEN MEETING LAW: The Meeting was called to order by A. Carlson at 8:35 a.m. and was certified to be in compliance with the Open Meeting Law.
ADOPT AGENDA: Motion by J. Pearson to adopt the Agenda, second by P. Johnson. Motion carried.
ADOPT MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING: Motion by P. Murray to approve the April 27, 2011 Regular Meeting Minutes, second by J. Pearson. Motion carried.
PUBLIC COMMENT: None.
COMMUNICATIONS: P. Johnson received communications regarding older adults in her apartment complex not using the air conditioning during the summer, heat during the winter, and not using a walker due to the unaffordable costs.
AGING & DISABILITY RESOURCE CENTER OF SOUTHWEST WISCONSIN – NORTH BOARD UPDATE: P. Murray provided information from the most recent meeting for Committee discussion.
DEPARTMENTAL UPDATE:
A. Aging & Disability Resource Center Advisory Member Update: T. Vandre presented the Aging & Disability Resource Center member update for Committee discussion.
B. Director's Update: T. Vandre presented the Director's update for Committee discussion.
C. Aging & Disability Resource Center Service Trends: L. Roundy presented the most current Aging & Disability Resource Center service trends for Committee discussion.
ADVOCACY:
A. Discuss the Livable Communities Forum: T. Vandre presented the Livable Communities Forum for Committee discussion.
B. Response to Mailings received by Members: None.
C. Update from the Communities: Issues Raised, Priorities Expressed: None.
D. Legislative Update and Action Plan: Withdrawn by T. Vandre.
BUSINESS ITEMS:
A. Language Enhanced Exercise Plus Socialization [LEEPS] Presentation: T. Vandre presented the Language Enhanced Exercise Plus Socialization [LEEPS] Program for Committee discussion.
B. Discuss the Draft Aging & Disability Resource Center Advisory Committee By-Laws: Withdrawn by T. Vandre.
NEXT MEETING: The next Regular Aging & Disability Resource Center Advisory Committee Meeting will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at the Sauk County West Square Building, 505 Broadway, Baraboo, Wisconsin 53913.
ADJOURNMENT: Motion by P. Johnson to adjourn the Aging & Disability Resource Center Advisory Committee at 10:24 a.m., second by P. Murray. Motion carried.
