MINUTES

Aging & Disability Resource Center Committee

Thursday, September 8, 2016 at 8:15 a.m.

Third Floor County Board Gallery Room 326B, West Square Building, 505 Broadway, Baraboo, WI 53913

Members Present:  Hovde, Kriegl, and Moore

Members Absent:  Spencer

County Personnel:  Susan Blodgett, ADRC;  Louie Birkholz, Veterans;  Tony Tyczynski, Veterans  and Briana Newkirk, ADRC

Others Present:  None

Chair Kriegl called the meeting to order at 8:27 a.m. and compliance with the Open Meeting Law was verified.

MOTION (Hovde/Moore) to adopt the agenda.  Motion carried unanimously.

MOTION (Hovde/Moore) to approve the minutes of the regular meeting on August 11, 2016.  Motion carried unanimously.

Public Comment:    None.

Communications:   None.

Next Meeting Date and Time:   Thursday, Nov. 10 at 8:15 a.m.

Susan Blodgett, Aging & Disability Resource Center:

a) Blodgett reported on the status of the 2017 budget; ADRC staff training received; DOT grant submissions and applications; and that work on the Medicare D open enrollment has begun.

b) Blodgett reported on the hiring of Jennifer Kamrowski to fill the Nutrition Specialist position, the status of filling the Sauk Prairie dining center vacancy, afternoon front desk vacancy, and Program Specialist position.

c) Blodgett reported that in September, ADRC staff will attend Aging Conference, the Stepping On program will begin on September 12, and work on the 85.21 grant begins.

d) Blodgett presented the monthly report and list of bills for her department.

MOTION (Moore/Hovde) to receive the report and approve bills.  Motion carried unanimously.

e) Blodgett reported on the Nutrition Survey Results wherein 90% rated the meals as good or better.  Participants reported the meals are one-half to two-thirds of their daily allowance and that the meals encourage them to eat healthier and helped them continue to live independently.

Tony Tyczynski, Veterans Service Office:

a) Tyczynski reported on the bimonthly regional training meeting and the outcome of the Baraboo University student orientation with the VSO.

b) Tyczynski updated the Committee on the Veterans home in King and the problems they face / changes that need to occur.

c)  Tyczynski presented the monthly report and list of bills for his department.

MOTION (Moore/Hovde) to receive the report and approve bills.  Motion carried unanimously.

Aging & Disability Resource Center Advisory Committee:   None.

Transportation Coordination Committee:   None.

Aging & Disability Resource Center of Eagle Country Board Update:

a) Hovde reported the meetings have been largely educational to prepare a high number of new members.

Next Meeting Agenda Items:

a) Possible closed session pursuant to Wisc. Stats. 19.85 (1) (c) Considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluating data of any public employee over which the (governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility.  Performance Appraisal of ADRC Director.

b) Update & Discussion of budget for 2017.

MOTION (Moore/Hovde) to adjourn until Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 8:15 a.m.  Motion carried unanimously and the meeting adjourned at 9:55 a.m.
