- Update on meal program: dining sites, transportation.
As of January 4, the Nutrition program meals started coming from the Sauk County Health Care Center for all of our Dining Centers and all Home Delivered Meals clients with the exception of those in North Freedom. All Dining Site Coordinators are now employees of Sauk County. There have been some glitches with food temperatures, and those are being addressed. The Department is continuing to evaluate ways to improve transporting food to our dining sites. A volunteer driver has been added to transport the Baraboo DC food.
A new dining site manager was hired at Reedsburg. Rose has done an excellent job of creating a warm, welcoming environment and diners have begun volunteering to assist in the meal site. The food from the HCC has received rave reviews from most dining sites.
Bus 4 is now located at in Spring Green and will be used to transport dining center and other clients to the meal site, stores, post office, and other places of necessity.
- Consideration and Approval of new position: Caregiver Support Specialist
After review of the new position, it was determined that the job title would be “Aging Program Specialist” instead of Caregiver Support Specialist. Blodgett points out that this position is a Budget Neutral addition to the staff. This position is needed to accommodate the move of Aging funds and programs back to the ADRC from Public Health who operated the program in 2015.
A new Office Assistant will be in place starting January 18, 2016. An LTE will be hired to work as needed to support ADRC programs during our peak times.
The Aging Program Specialist new position will next go to personnel and finance after approval by ADRC Committee.
Motion to approve the position of Aging Program Specialist made by T. Gramling; 2nd by C. Held. Motion Carried
- Consideration and Approval of Transportation grant 85.21
- Director Blodgett reviews with the committee the facts and figures of the 85.21 Transportation Grant. Motion to approve the 53.10 Grant by C. Held; second by T. Gramling. Motion Carried
- Update on Transportation 53.10 grant:
This is the New Freedom Grant. Grant was completed summer of 2015. Blodgett anticipates the need to request funding for a large passenger van in the next grant cycle (2017).
- Update on department staffing (See Section B.)
- Aging & Disability Resource Center Departmental Update and Service Trends
All goals for 2015 have been met. Some figures from 2015 will not be available until March 2016 due to need to resolve all accounts. D. Riek requests specifically that we include the cost efficiencies for Transportation.
- Review the Monthly Financial Statements
Held wonders about what happens to leftover dollars: do they go to the general fund? Brent Michalek responds that some funds are tied to specific programs and will carry over (Those are funds that are tied to specific grants.) If there is any left not tied to grants, those will go to the General Fund.
- Consideration and Approval of the Monthly Invoices
Motion by T. Gramlin, 2nd by C. Held to approve the Monthly Invoices for December in the amount of $16447.86. Motion carried.
- Veterans Service Office Business Items
- Veterans Service Office Departmental Update and Service Trends
VSO attended the Sauk County Veterans Council meeting with 10 commanders present.
The Case of Interest is tabled until February meeting.
T. Tyczynski recently learned the value of a training received in 2015 on the topic of widows benefits for Veterans. Because he attended this training, he was able to acquire an additional $30,000 in benefits for a vets widowed spouse.
B.J. Ganem has been appointed to the Sauk County Veterans Service Commission to fulfill remaining term of Roger Friede, Sr.
VSO will be meeting with D. Brantsett of Sauk County Human Services Dept. to discuss how to bridge the communication gap between the departments in order to serve share clients more effectively. Discussion of releases and other things to be considered.
Output Measures: The VSO assisted 2940 veterans with the Federal Application for Veterans Benefits in 2015.
The wait time for an appointment to meet with VSO has decreased from 6 weeks to 1 week. An excellent improvement.
Goal 2 not met, but action will be taken next week.
Dave Riek inquires why transportation for veterans appears to have decreased. This could be that 1)veterans aren’t contacting the VSO; they are contacting the ADRC directly; or 2) data reporting process in the ADRC was not being collected correctly. Kerry Beghin has been working with ADRC transportation department to improve tracking of veterans who use our services.
- Consideration and Approval of the Monthly Invoices
Motion made by C. Held to approve the invoice for $364.41 and one for $242.00. 2nd by T. Gramling. Motion Carried.
- Aging & Disability Resource Center Advisory Committee/Transportation Coordination Committee Updates
Next meeting will take place February 23, 2016
- Aging & Disability Resource Center of Eagle Country Board Update
We are in process of meeting new grant requirement: new signage, tracking phone calls in SAMS; tracking calls put on hold and hold times. We are working with T. Stieve on this as the whole phone system would need to be updated at a cost of $23,000 in additional funds on top of what we already pay for phone service.
- Public Comment: None
- Agenda Items for Next Meeting
- Adjourn: motion made by C. Held, 2nd by T. Gramling to adjourn. Motion carried.
Meeting adjourned, Thursday, January 14, 2016, 5:10 p.m.
