Purpose

This property was advertised for sale in February 2015 and this resolution will accept the successful bid and also approve the County Clerk to convey the property to the purchaser.

Background

This property was taken on a tax deed on 06/26/1986 and not advertised for sale.  Prior to the tax deed this was a remnant left after the former owners sold adjoining land with this as an exception "to be used as highway only".

The current owner of the land north of this parcel is buying land from the owner of the land south of this parcel.  This is a 1 acre parcel that measures 33' x 1,320'.  Plus, in looking at the GIS maps, the owner to the north looks as if part of his improvements are on this subject property.

It makes sense to get this cleaned up.

The successful bidder was the current owner of the land north of this subject parcel.

                           ACCEPTING A BID ON TAX-DELINQUENT REAL ESTATE

ACQUIRED BY SAUK COUNTY

            WHEREAS, your Property and Insurance Committee has appraised certain property, acquired by Sauk County as tax-delinquent real estate, pursuant to the Wisconsin Statutes; and,

            WHEREAS, the Sauk County Treasurer has advertised the sale and appraised value of such real estate in a Class 3 Notice under Chapter 985 of the Wisconsin Statutes; and,

            WHEREAS, at 1:00 p.m. on February 27, 2015, the Sauk County Treasurer and the Sauk County Deputy Treasurer opened bids for said property, the successful bidder indicated; said property received a sufficient bid described below:

                                    in the Sauk County Register of Deeds office at: Reel 422, Image 421; and

             WHEREAS, Sauk County is now authorized by § 75.69 of the Wisconsin Statutes to accept the bid meeting or exceeding the appraised value of said property deemed most advantageous to it.

 

            NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Sauk County Board of Supervisors met in regular session, that the Sauk County Clerk is hereby instructed to issue a Quit Claim Deed for the above described real property to the above-named successful bidder upon receipt in full of the amounts of said bids by the Sauk County Treasurer by March 6, 2015.

    

            AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Sauk County Clerk is also authorized to accept the next successful bid exceeding the appraised value of any parcel if the successful bidder on said property does not comply with all requirements as outlined in the Notice of Sale.
