Purpose

Revise fees charged for GIS products

Background

WHEREAS, Sauk County has worked to efficiently utilize Land Records Modernization Funds to improve Sauk County’s Land Records System, and such funds have provided for development of digital land records data, products and services in a cost effective manner, and;

 

            WHEREAS, this data is converted into digital information compatible with Sauk County’s GIS system, as well as with other county systems, and;

 

WHEREAS, these digital geographic information products are made available to the public through the Sauk County Land Information Department and related systems, and;

 

            WHEREAS, these products and services were developed from fees retained from document filings in the Sauk County Register of Deeds Department, and;

 

            WHEREAS, Sauk County would benefit greatly by providing such digital data to the public at no charge, except for customization or paper reproduction of such data, and;

                             

            WHEREAS, the Land Information Staff, along with the Sauk County Land Information Council and the Conservation, Planning and Zoning Committee  have discussed these fees and find it unnecessary to charge a fee for any information downloaded directly from our systems, and;    

 

            WHEREAS, the following fee structure was developed for Data Customization and Hardcopy Duplication Fees,

Copy of Surveys, Plats & Tie-sheets

  1. 8 ½ x 11 - $0.25
  2. 11 x 17 - $0.25
  3. Larger – $2.00

 

Color Prints - Basic (Simple Vector Data)

  1. 8 ½ x 11 – $1.00
  2. 11 x 17 – $2.00
  3. 17 x 22 – $3.00
  4. 22 x 34 - $4.00
  5. 34 x 44 – $5.00
  6. 41.5 x 45.5 - $6.00

 

Color Prints with Ortho, Contours or Shading (Full Coverage)

  1. 8 ½ x 11 - $3.00
  2. 11 x 17 – $6.00
  3. 17 x 22 – $9.00
  4. 22 x 34 - $12.00
  5. 34 x 44 – $15.00
  6. 41.5 x 45.5 - $18.00

 

Other copy fees

  1. 18 x 24 Property Assessment Map Copies - $2
  2. 18 x 24 Color Property Assessment Maps - $7
  3. 24 x 30 Poster Board - $20
  4. 30 x 40 Poster Board - $30

 

Custom Products Fee - $50.00/hour

 

And;

     

WHEREAS, the Conservation, Planning and Zoning Committee has reviewed this matter and found it in the best interest of Sauk County to implement the above reproduction fee structure.

 

            NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Sauk County Board of Supervisors, met in regular session that the above listed fees for reproduction services, and the provision to revise fees for digital data, products, and services be approved effective immediately upon passage for consideration by the Sauk County Board of Supervisors on October 21, 2014.
