Purpose

AUTHORIZE REIMBURSEMENT FOR ATTENDANCE AT ONE-DAY SEMINAR ON PREPARING FOR THE COUNTY ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING AND ORIENTATION FOR NEWLY ELECTED COUNTY BOARD SUPERVISOR WISCONSIN COUNTIES ASSOCIATION

Background

In January 2020, the Wisconsin Counties Association (WCA) is presenting a one-day seminar on “Preparing For The County Organizational Meeting And Orientation For Newly Elected County Board Supervisors.” The seminar will cover in detail, county government authority, roles and responsibilities of county supervisors, election of officers, adoption of the county board's procedural rules, and county board organization. The registration is free for all member counties. This seminar is an opportunity for County Board Members to learn from experienced educators. The Rules of the Board stipulate that attendance at a school, institute or meeting which is not a part of regular committee meetings requires approval by the County Board of Supervisors (Rule V. B. of the Rules of the Sauk County Board of Supervisors).

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Sauk County Board of Supervisors, met in regular session, hereby approves compensating and reimbursing expenses of County Board of Supervisors (per diem and mileage) for attendance at the WCA seminar “Preparing For The County Organizational Meeting And Orientation For Newly Elected County Board Supervisors” on January 13, 2020 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin.
