Purpose

AUTHORIZING THE CREATION OF ONE FULL TIME CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES ASSISTANT SUPERVISOR POSITION FOR THE SAUK COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2019.

Background

Sauk County Department of Human Services has evaluated its use of Social Workers and supervision within the Child Protective Services Unit.  This evaluation process has determined the need for an increase in supervision staff to maximize safety requirements.  The supervision ratio is understaffed by 50-60% as determined by the Child Welfare League of America.  Sauk County Department of Human Services increased social workers in child protection in 2108 to result in an adequate staffing level and now needs to increase supervision and therefore is requesting authorization of one full time (1.0 FTE) Child Protective Services Assistant Supervisor position to serve the residents of Sauk County effective January 1, 2019.

Budget Status (Other/External Sources):

Funding for this position is 100% levy.
