Purpose

AUTHORIZING THE CREATION OF ONE FULL TIME CHILDREN AND FAMILY SUPPORT PROGRAMS SOCIAL WORKER POSITION FOR THE SAUK COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2019.

Background

Sauk County Department of Human Services has evaluated its use of Social Workers within the Children’s Long Term Support (CLTS)/Birth to 3 unit.  This evaluation process has determined the need for an increase in social work staff to maximize State requirements to eliminate a waiting list in CLTS and support for supervision of these requirements, as well as meet the needs for Birth to 3 families.  The number of children served in Sauk County’s CLTS program has increased by 19 in 2018 and it is expected to increase by an additional 9 children in 2019 due to a state-wide waitlist elimination plan.  The State will provide additional funding for the CLTS part of this position.  Sauk County Department of Human Services is requesting authorization of one full time (1.0 FTE) Social Work position to serve the residents of Sauk County effective January 1, 2019.

Budget Status (Other/External Sources):

Funding for this position is 50% levy.
