Purpose

Commending Agencies, Community Organizations, and Citizens Supporting National Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Background

It is the custom of the Sauk County Board of Supervisors to acknowledge and recognize agencies, organizations and citizens supporting the recognition and efforts to prevent child abuse.  Child abuse is a significant factor in Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) and as such creates damage to health and development as well as other issues continuing into adulthood.

Resolution Body

            NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Sauk County Board of Supervisors, met in regular session, that the Sauk County Board of Supervisors expresses its sincere appreciation and admiration for all the partner agencies including Law Enforcement, Human Services, Public Health, local schools, Hope House, local hospitals and clinics, as well as community organizations such as Bikers Against Child Abuse, and other local organizations that advocate for child safety;

AND, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that April is the National Child Abuse Prevention month and an appropriate time to make a higher level of awareness for this important issue as well as bring to the attention of all Sauk County citizens the high priority of child abuse prevention.
