Purpose

To convey tax deed properties to the successful bidders of the sealed bid auction.

Background

Sauk County will issue a Tax Deed on property that has met the statutory requirements to be foreclosed upon due to delinquent real estate taxes.  The County takes title to these properties and then offers them for sale to the general public through a sealed bid auction.  The Property & Insurance Committee placed the appraised value on each property. The sealed bid auction was advertised explaining the sale and appraised value of each parcel.  The advertisement was a Class 3 Notice as defined under Chapter 985 of the Wisconsin Statutes.  On November 17, 2017 at 4:31 pm, the County Treasurer and the Deputy County Treasurer opened the received bid.  The property that is listed below received a sufficient bid with the successful bidder indicated. Sauk County is now authorized by §75.69 of the Wisconsin Statutes to accept the bids meeting or exceeding the appraised value of said property deemed most advantageous to it. This resolution will authorize the Sauk County Clerk to issue a Quit Claim Deed to the bidder indicated.
