Purpose

Allowing the CPZ Director to enter into a lease/rental agreement for the crop land at the Health Care Center.

As with the others - the bids are being received and due on Nov 13.  Once a farmer/renter has been select, CPZ will update the resolutions with a name and bid price.

Please review resolutions for content and other information/formatting required.   Will post an updated resolution for everyone here once we have a bid selected.

Background

Background: Sauk County owns approximately 12.9 acres of tillable land, known as the Sauk County Health Care Center parcels 3202 and 3180, City of Reedsburg, located adjacent to the Sauk County Health Care Center at 1040 Clark Street. This crop land is used as a demonstration site to show case new and innovative conservation practices that prevent soil erosion and reduce agricultural runoff to protect groundwater and surface water resources. Cropland is leased out to a local farmer every five years and a competitive bidding procedure is used to solicit bids for leasing this cropland. The lease agreement is contingent on obtaining an annual conditional use permit from the City of Reedsburg.

Budget Status (Other/External Sources):

Fiscal Note: This resolution does not require an appropriation from the county general fund. Lease payments to the county will amount to $$$ per year, for a total of $$$ for the five-year period. This revenue will be included in the 2018 through 2022 Conservation, Planning, and Zoning budgets.
