Purpose

To sell tax deed property to the Village of North Freedom

Background

Background: Sauk County took a tax deed on this property on October 17, 2017. Pursuant to Wis Stat. § 75.69 and Sauk County Code § 43.03(8), the County is authorized to convey tax delinquent property to a municipality before offering the same to the general public. The Village of North Freedom has agreed to purchase the property for $25,000.00 The County will also be responsible for the payment of the 2017 real estate taxes.

The amount the county has invested in these properties is $14,047.93 (taxes, interest, penalties, tax deed service charges, eviction notices & Homestead Proceeds to former owner per State Statute 75.36(2)(3)(4)). The County will be responsible for payment of the 2017 real estate taxes.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Sauk County Board of Supervisors met in regular session, that the Sauk County Clerk be and hereby is authorized and directed, upon timely receipt of $25,000.00 to issue a quit claim deed to the Village of North Freedom for the below described property:

Village of North Freedom, Original Plat, Lot 4, Block 3, Parcel #161-0110-00000

AND, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County will assume and pay the 2017 real estate taxes.

For consideration by the Sauk County Board of Supervisors on December 19, 2017.
