Purpose

To convey tax delinquent properties to the successful bidders of the Sealed Bid Auction in August  2017.

Background

Sauk County will issue a Tax Deed on property that has met the statutory requirements to be foreclosed upon due to delinquent real estate taxes.  The County takes title to these properties and then offers them for sale to the general public through a sealed bid auction.  This resolution outlines bids received from the sealed bid auction conducted in August 2017 and authorizes issuance of a quit claim deed to each of the successful bidders.

            WHEREAS, your Property and Insurance Committee has appraised certain property, acquired by Sauk County as tax-delinquent real estate, pursuant to the Wisconsin Statutes; and,

 

            WHEREAS, the Sauk County Treasurer has advertised the sale and appraised value of such real estate in a Class 3 Notice under Chapter 985 of the Wisconsin Statutes; and,

 

            WHEREAS, at 8:00 a.m. on September 8, 2017, the Sauk County Treasurer and the Sauk County Deputy Treasurer opened bids for said property, the successful bidders indicated, with all parcels not receiving sufficient bids being omitted; said properties receiving sufficient bids described below:

            WHEREAS, Sauk County is now authorized by §75.69 of the Wisconsin Statutes to accept the bids meeting or exceeding the appraised value of said property deemed most advantageous to it.

 

            NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Sauk County Board of Supervisors met in regular session, that the Sauk County Clerk is hereby instructed to issue a Quit Claim Deed for the above described real property to the above-named successful bidders having received in full the amount of said bid by the Sauk County Treasurer by September 14, 2017. 

 

            AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Sauk County Clerk is also authorized to accept the next successful bid exceeding the appraised value of any parcel if the successful bidder on said property does not comply with all requirements as outlined in the Notice of Sale.

 

     For consideration by the Sauk County Board of Supervisors on September 19, 2017.
