Purpose

The Health Department was allocated $20,000 from the Ho-Chunk gaming pact monies to purchase a vehicle for the Nurse Family Partnership (NFP) program to assist in keeping mileage costs down. Bid requests were sent out and none were received. We reached out to the State Contract holder Ewald Automotive Group with the specs of the bid. One bid was received; The 2018 Chevrolet Equinox AWD met the bid requirements for a total, including license and delivery fee, of $22,232.50.

The additional $2,232.50 will come from unspent wages and benefits saved by receiving the WI-PDO grant. The four wheel drive was needed to assist in accessing clients in extreme rural areas of the county during inclement weather (i.e. snow covered roads, wet, muddy, dirt roads and driveways etc.)

AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF ONE VEHICLE FOR THE SAUK COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT

WHEREAS, the Board of Health has examined the bid received, which is enumerated on the bottom of this resolution; and,

WHEREAS, after examination of the bid the Board of Health recommends it to be in the best interest of Sauk County to accept the bid of Ewald Automotive Group, Oconomowoc Wisconsin.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Sauk County Board of Supervisors,

met in regular session, that the Sauk County Health Department be and hereby is authorized to purchase one 2018 Chevrolet Equinox AWD 4dr LS w/1LS 1XX26 for a total cost of $22,232.50; and,

For consideration by the Sauk County Board of Supervisors on July 18, 2017.
