Purpose

Resolution to AUTHORIZE AN INCREASE IN THE FULL TIME EQUIVALENT (FTE) FOR THE COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKER (CHW) IN PUBLIC HEALTH FROM 0.4 FTE TO 1.0 FTE.

Background

BACKGROUND: Currently, PHSC has a part-time 0.4 FTE Community Health Worker in the budget for 2024 paid for entirely with the Nurse Family Partnership grant which focuses on maternal and child health. In September 2024, SSM Health contacted Public Health Sauk County (PHSC) about a partnership that would help each entity meet their community health outreach goals. SSM Health offered to pay the difference in salary and benefits if PHSC was able to increase the position to 1.0 FTE. The position would continue the outreach efforts that PHSC has been undertaking to promote the programs and services offered by PHSC and expand outreach efforts to provide information and resources surrounding youth health, mental health, and access to care all while aiming to improve community health and health outcomes so everyone in Sauk County can live their healthiest life possible.
