Purpose

Resolution to have Dr. Brian Kaskie from the University of Iowa to conduct the Sauk County Older Adults Needs Assessment (Continuum of Care) that is in the Administrator's 2024 budget

Background

On November 14, 2023, during the Sauk County Budget meeting,  a motion was made by Supervisor Hazard, and seconded by Supervisor Polivka to amend the 2024 budget by $50,000 to fund a needs assessment of health care needs in Sauk County.   The motion passed 17 ayes, 14 nays.  

 

In 2024 an RFP was prepared and posted in August, with a due date of September 13, 2024.   Four proposals were received.   Proposals were reviewed by the Administrator, department heads from the ADRC, Public Health, Land Resources and Environment, Human Services and two additional staff from the ADRC, the Aging Services Supervisor and a Disability Benefit Specialist.   After consideration, it was decided to award the proposal to Dr. Brian Kaskie (Gerontology) from the University of Iowa.   His proposal’s budget is for $49,010.
