Background
BACKGROUND: On July 23, 2024 a 2020 Ford Explorer police package marked squad belonging to Sauk County was heavily damaged by gun fire. The squad car has been declared a total loss by the County’s insurance adjusters. A replacement squad is needed. The County can purchase a 2023 Ford Explorer from Kayser Ford of Madison with a cost of $40,500. Sauk County will be receiving an insurance payment of $32,078 for the squad car with the additional amount from the self insurance fund for the deductible.
Budget Status (Other/External Sources):
Partial replacement costs of $32,078 for the squad will be paid by insurance and remainder will be transferred from the County's self-insurance fund to cover the deductible.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Sauk County Board of Supervisors, met in regular session, that the Sauk County Sheriff be and hereby authorized to purchase a 2023 Ford Explorer from Kayser Ford of Madison for a cost of $40,500.
