Background

Sauk County currently maintains service agreements on mission critical infrastructure components such as servers, storage arrays, and core switching equipment.  Historically, these agreements have been with the OEM vendors.

In an effort to find more cost-effective solutions, MIS has been researching third-party alternatives for these contracts.  Through this research, Park Place Technologies was identified as a qualified alternative to the OEM vendors for some of these devices.

Resolved by the Board of Supervisors of Sauk County, Wisconsin:

 

BACKGROUND: Sauk County currently maintains service agreements on mission critical infrastructure components such as servers, storage arrays, and core switching equipment.  Historically, these agreements have been with the OEM vendors.

In an effort to find more cost-effective solutions, MIS has been researching third-party alternatives for these contracts.  Through this research, Park Place Technologies was identified as a qualified alternative to the OEM vendors for some of these devices.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Sauk County Board of Supervisors, that a one-year service contract covering non-warrantied core switching and specified storage devices with Park Place Technologies at an annual cost of 16,706 be, and is hereby, approved; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Sauk County MIS Director be delegated the authority to enter into this agreement on behalf of Sauk County.
