Resolution to Authorize Purchase of Vehicle for Public Health and Amend the 2024 Budget 5-24-2024

Resolved by the Board of Supervisors of Sauk County, Wisconsin:

BACKGROUND:

Public Health provides thousands of inspections, home visits and other services throughout the county. To offset mileage reimbursement paid to staff, fleet vehicles are used. In 2023 one of those vehicles was involved in an accident to which the vehicle was deemed totaled. Bids were mailed to county car dealers in March 2024. There were three (3) responses.  The dealer selected was not the lowest responsive bidder however offered a limited lifetime engine warranty and offers several safety features. 

WHEREAS, Sauk County Public Health has procured bids in compliance with the bid procedure and,

WHEREAS, it would be in the best interest of the County to have reliable and suitable transportation to carry out the mission and duties required of a public health department; and,

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Sauk County Board of Supervisors that the purchase of a 2024 Jeep Compass Limited 4x4 at a cost of $33,763 be hereby approved.
