Purpose

BACKGROUND: Caleb J. Grant filed a Notice of Claim with the Sauk County Clerk’s Office on August 4th, 2023. (see the attached Exhibit A). The notice of claim alleges “civil rights violations involving wrongful arrest and wrongful detention.” The Notice of Claim has been referred to the County’s appropriate insurance carrier who has determined that the claim may be formally disallowed by Sauk County.

Resolution Body

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Sauk County Board of Supervisors does hereby disallow the claim of Caleb J. Grant, E7973 Beth Rd., Reedsburg, WI 53959 and that no action on this claim may be brought against Sauk County or any of its offices, officials, agents or employees after six months from the date of service of this notice.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the claimant by registered or certified mail, as a notice of disallowance.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Sauk County Board of Supervisors does hereby reserve any and all defenses to the claim related to compliance with Wis. Stat. § 893.80.
