Purpose

BACKGROUND: Wisconsin Statutes section 59.20(2)(c) allows the County to abolish the elected Surveyor position and instead have the duties assigned to a County employee or to contract for those services. The abolishment of the elected Surveyor position will provide the County with the opportunity to establish qualifications for the position. The current elected Surveyor’s term ends January 5th, 2025.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Sauk County Board of Supervisors

that the elected office of Surveyor is abolished as of January 5th, 2025, and;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the county surveyor position shall be filled by a regular full time employee or by contracted services.
